Chairperson's Message

Chairperson, Priti G. Adani

Dear Friends,

Wish you all a very happy, healthy and prosperous 2017!

The New Year has invigorated us with renewed energy and hopes to continue our journey of nation building with much more fresh rigour and spirit.

Last year, in our persistent quest to contribute towards nation building, we moved beyond the regions of our business operations and launched some much needed National initiatives.

Our Project Udaan has expanded beyond Gujarat and has been re-launched in its new avatar to five more states. The endeavour to curb Malnutrition and Anaemia in adolescent girls and women has taken shape as ProjectSuPoshan. Across seven states, our trained Sanginis trained are working tirelessly for this noble cause. Furthermore, aligning with the Swachh Bharat Mission, we have launched Project Swachhagraha nationally with a mission to create a 'Culture of Cleanliness'. Adani Skill Development Centre (ASDC) has recently been established and launched as Project "Saksham" which envisages empowering 3,00,000 youth of the nation with employable skills and job placements by 2022.

With your passionate contribution and support, Adani Foundation is striding on a mission to create self-reliant, educated and empowered communities across the length and breadth of the nation.

I look forward to your continuous support in our commitment towards social transformation.

Thank You!

Our Focus Area

Adani Foundation

Adani Foundation, the CSR wing of the Infrastructure Conglomerate-Adani Group was established in 1996, as a tribute to the ideals upheld by Late Shri Shantilal and Shrimati Shantaba Adani. Imbibing the philosophy of Karmanye Vaadhikaraste, Adani Foundation symbolizes the values of courage, trust and commitment. Touching more than 4,00,000 plus families, Adani Foundation acts passionately in four core areas - Education; Community Health; Sustainable Livelihood Development and Rural Infrastructure Development, encompassing 11 States, 20 Sites, 1,470 villages & towns across the nation.

Education

Paving its way towards fulfilling the much aspired dream of nation building, Adani Foundation acts to provide free of cost quality education to meritorious children from lesser privileged section of the society via its flagship, Adani Vidya Mandir. Having a total strength of 1600 students, the Adani Vidya Mandir is operational at Ahmedabad & Bhadreshwar in Gujarat and Surguja in Chhattisgarh. Further, the Foundation also extends support to 543 government aided schools across the nation and has 4 subsidized schools catering to 2000 students. A special educational aid has until now supported 1300 bright minds of the nation as well. Apart from the mainstream programs in Education, the Foundation runs “Project Udaan” wherein a free of cost exposure and motivational tour is organized every day for school students to make them visit Adani Group’s business sites and get motivated by the magnanimity of Adani Port & Power and Adani Wilmar facilities. Till now, the project has covered 1.35 Lac students across Gujarat. The Udaan project has also started at Kawai (Rajasthan), Tiroda (Maharashtra) & Dhamra (Odisha).

Community Health

Adani Foundation believes in an overall and inclusive development of a nation. Hence, "health" becomes a pivotal area for Adani Foundation to act on. Bringing healthcare at the threshold of every household in the remotest of regions, Adani Foundation has seven Mobile Health Care Units (MHCUs) across the nation which attends to 15,000 patients per month and 1.6 Lac people a year on an average; besides, thirteen Rural Clinics at Mundra and Sainj caters to 67,000 patients every year. With an objective of providing affordable and accessible health care to all, Adani Foundation via its G.K. General Hospital and Adani Hospital at Mundra gives free of cost quality health services to around 2,00,000 patients a year. Innovative schemes like Senior Citizen Health Cards Scheme are functional in 60 villages wherein services worth more than Rs. 200 Lacs are extended to 13000 people a year through OPD/IPD at Adani Hospital. Above and beyond, medical camps and programs like Anaemia Reduction Program; Kidney Stone Awareness Programme etc. are organized frequently by the Foundation at regular intervals across locations.

Sustainable Livelihood Development

Adani Foundation takes equal efforts towards bringing parity in the society by honing the skill sets of its members and generating sustainable income generating options for them. The Foundation has empowered around 1500 youths through Adani Skill Development Centre and other training initiatives within a span of a year. During the same tenure, there are 550 women as well who have been benefited through skill development trainings. The income generating activities of the Foundation has impacted 600 persons and their families directly. Through the cow based economy programme around 950 people are at present earning an average of Rs 1500/- every month and introduction of bio-gas and LPG subsidies amongst the rural households in villages has helped them save around 18000 quintals of wood every year. Further, special training programmes on implementation of methods like Systematic Rice Intensification (SRI) have supported a total of 1370 farmers by reducing their rice cultivation cost by 33% and increasing the production by 51%.

Rural Infrastructure Development

Taking forward a holistic step towards improving the lives of people across locations, Adani Foundation acts whole heartedly towards developing rural infrastructure as well. Apart from the regular support to schools and public utility infrastructures like construction of approach roads, potable drinking water facility, installation of solar street lights etc., Adani Foundation has worked extensively for creating better living standard for the fisher-folk communities at Mundra, Gujarat. Apart from providing them dwelling units they have also been given the provisions of toilet facilities at their bandars. Working towards water conservation activities, we have taken up activities pertaining to deepening of ponds in water scarce regions across locations. A total of 97 ponds have been deepened resulting in 83.24 lac kilo litre of water storage. More so, there are 23 Check-Dams constructed and 25 mil. cubic feet water recharged. As far as Sanitation is concerned, Adani Foundation has aided 26 villages in getting 100% household toilet coverage and with partial financial support from WASMO, the Foundation has also implemented rural underground drainage system of 81 kilometres covering 16 villages at Mundra.
